Blank cricket field diagram
This is a free blank cricket field diagram showing the ground, the pitch, the fielding circle and the boundary, with no positions marked, so you can draw or place your own.
Use it as a clean base for coaching sessions, match plans, presentations or school work. The diagram is viewed from above, with the striker at the top and the off side on the left for a right-hand batter.
Where can you download the blank cricket field diagram?
- Download the blank field (PNG). It is a large image that works well in slides and documents.
- Download the blank field (SVG). It is a scalable image that stays sharp at any size and can be edited in a vector program.
What is on the blank field?
- The boundary and the outer grass.
- The dashed fielding circle around the pitch.
- The pitch with the batting and bowling creases.
- Labels for the off side and the leg side, and a badge showing the batter’s hand.
How can you use it?
- Print it and draw fielders as crosses or numbers with a pen.
- Add it to a slide and place shapes for each fielder.
- Use it for a drill, asking players to mark where they would stand in a given situation.
- Give copies to junior players to practise naming the positions.
What if you want the positions marked?
Use the printable field template, which marks every standard position and adds a line-up table, or the fielding positions chart. For an editable version where you drag your own players onto the field, open the free planner.
What are good ways to mark fielders on a blank field?
- Use a different symbol for each role, such as a cross for a catcher and a circle for a fielder in the ring.
- Number the fielders from 1 to 11 and keep a list of names beside the diagram.
- Draw an arrow from a fielder to show where they move when the field changes.
- Use a pencil, so you can rub out a position and try another during a match.
How is the diagram oriented?
The striker’s end is at the top and the bowler’s end is below it. For a right-hand batter the off side is on the left of the diagram and the leg side is on the right. A left-hand batter reverses that, so flip your own markings for a left-hander.
